Michelle Dutton served as vice president, Global Network Operations and Engineering, where she had responsibility for systems planning, business process development, product deployment and performance assurance for one of the world’s largest and most advanced facilities-based networks. The 200+ systems supported Verizon’s global voice, data, video and IP networks which span more than 2600 cities in 150 countries on six continents. She held positions in Operations, Engineering, IT, Capital Management and sales throughout her career where she developed and trained world class teams to deliver results. After a 30-year career, Dutton transitioned from Verizon to launch Dutton Enterprises, LLC, a business strategy consulting business, including business coaching, executive coaching and training, where she leverages her experience as a senior leader in the corporate sector to develop strategies for women climbing the ladder in non-traditional jobs.
Dutton enjoys being active in her community and served on numerous boards including the National Academy Foundation, INROADS/Greater Baltimore – Washington, Inc, the National Eagle Leadership Institute, INNterim House, a shelter for single mothers and the North Carolina A&T Advisory Board for the College of Arts and Science.
A recipient of numerous awards, Dutton Enterprises, LLC was recently awarded the National Vendor Award by AT&T for her work with Women in STEM. She was also named in Fierce Telecom’s “Women in Wireline” list, which honors women executives who are shaping services, technology and policy in the wireline segment of the telecom industry, honored at the NYC Woman of Tomorrow’s Conference, and featured in the February 2014 issue of Black Enterprise magazine for her work with STEM.
Dutton received her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her Master of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
